THE COMING NEW DAY
"It's the day of the LORD," Revelation 1:10.
The DAY is coming !!! Preachers have yelled this Second Coming idea ever since I was a little kid. Being born in Alabama, with many relatives still there, I know they all heard this wonderful truth. My dad and his dad heard this same message all their lives. Now, that goes back to the middle of 1800. And, praise the LORD, Missionary Baptists have always preached the same message found that is in God's WORD. And, they still yell !
The NEW DAY – SINCE THE RESURRECTION - is to be thought of as everyday; even today. However, the day of the LORD is spelled out throughout the WORD, giving us a very interesting quote found in 2nd Thessalonians 2:2. Here, Paul writes to the church that: "That day will not come expect there is a...GREAT FALLING AWAY, FIRST." Further, that day requires "THAT MAN OF SIN IS REVEALED, THE SON OF PERDITION" (SEE Rev. 17:11).
Now, while so many teach that we shall be removed for the earth before the bad things start, we have to stay with Scripture. We shall be on earth; at least, until we see the SON OF PERDITION starts his work against the LORD.
As Missionary Baptists, we trust that the LORD'S day is right on; even, the Second Coming and it's Truth. Sure, we all have our verse to preach; but, when compared with other verses, it sure states that will shall be on the earth until the Antichrist is finished. That's not our liking, it's just what the verse reports; harmonizing with other verses. So, we have to say, AMEN and AMEN!
When we study out the 'Day of the LORD,' we see that each week is 7000 years long; from Adam until Christ returns (4 thousand yrs. or, 4 days – Christ to present is 2000 yrs. or, 2 days) . Finally, the SEVENTH DAY, THE MILLENNIUM. Thus, we understand (BY Scripture) that "one day is with the LORD as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day," 2 Peter 3:8.
After, removal of the Beast (Satan), the saints reign on the earth, fulfilling the 1000 year millennium. That's what the Bible reports to our minds and hearts. But, what a day !!! "And hast made us unto our God kings and priests, and we shall reign on the earth" (Rev 5:10).
