Faithful To Jesus
"...to the angel of the church of Ephesus write...I know thy works; and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil...nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy FIRST LOVE," Rev. 2:1, 2 and 3.
Being a Landmark Missionary Baptist, the LORD'S Church, I believe that His body, has been on the earth since He established the institution. That's my belief and trust today; which sure made sense since I was first taught this truth. Scripture certainly proves that fact. "...Upon this rock I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it," Mt. 16:18. My Dad would tell Mormons and those who believe in a latter day beginning of the church, that they called his LORD a liar, and he did not appreciate it. But, a believer has to come to this truth and seek out the Lord's will; or, who knows what group he will align with.
Dad would also quote Mt. 28:19 & 20: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them...Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: AND, LO, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, EVEN UNTO THE END OF THE WORLD (end of the AGE; that is, church age). Others say the same thing about those joining with any group. Just being a member of a group that calls itself a true church, isn't enough. His church has to have the lineage back to Jesus's day in order to prove that statement. (See: THE "TRIAL OF BLOOD" on our website,TRINITYMBC.COM).
Now, what about "Losing the first love of Christ?" The best answer is: THE NEXT TIME YOU GO TO CHURCH, ASK THEM ABOUT THIS VERSE. Remember that His CHURCH has BEEN on earth since Jesus established His body; ALWAYS. Please, check this out and see if your group has the history. Then, obey what Jesus taught His body; after all, He's the one we will all shall stand before on the judgment day. Start with a Baptist Church; then, check out its historical lineage.
