WHEN JESUS COMES TO EARTH
"And hast made us kings and priests and we shall reign on the earth," Revelation 5:10.
Well, we won't spend all of our time in heaven. Scripture is clear that
God wants this earth as His; but, in His plans, He remembers His faithful. All the saints will inherit the earth; as Matthew 5:5 tells us: "BLESSED ARE THE MEEK: FOR THEY SHALL INHERIT THE
EARTH."
After Jesus was born of a virgin and died for the sins of the world, He took away the Law and set the Father's promises in motion; as a man. What God has promised to Abraham, Jesus came to claim. This is very clear in Stephen's message of Acts 7. When you read this chapter, you will understand much better about reigning on the earth.
It tells of Abraham begetting the 12 patriarchs; which, God dealt with by taking them out bondage and giving them the promised land. While, the promise remains to Abraham, it was fulfilled by Jesus. Quickly, Galatians 3:18, tells us that the promise was the same as getting it; for God spoke it. Thus, Paul goes on in Chapter 3, telling us that the Law could not bring righteousness; but, RIGHTEOUSNESS came by JESUS.
Finally, when Christ came, He removed the Law (Gal. 3:22-24) and, by baptism, we "have put on Christ." Paul concludes with: "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise," Chapter 3:29. That is, God's promise. By faith, do what the LORD says. Missionary Baptists have tried to get men to follow Jesus since Jesus left them. The message has not changed.
