Jesus Is Always There
"We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
PERSECUTED, but not FORSAKEN; cast down, but not destroyed," 2 Corinthians 4:8-9.
One truth that all servants must learn is that God cares His people - just look over your shoulder - He's always there. God will never FORSAKE His people; not Israel, nor His church. I think the key to knowing that He is always around is to trust Him, serve Him and, of course, love the LORD GOD; as He loves you, ALWAYS.
Joshua was told, "I will not fail thee, nor FORSAKE thee" (Joshua 1:5). What great news. Later, God tells Joshua to "be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy GOD is with thee whithersoever thou goest," Joshua 1:9. And, when God's SERVANTS hear by faith, they obey, gladly.
The words of the LORD are special. David knew this, well. He was to declare: "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread," Psalms 37:25. Now, I don't think David was born in Alabama; as I was but, it's still true, God takes care of His people. My folks were very poor – back in the 40's. Yet, they always ate. Why, Grandma's table could seat 25 of her offspring.
When I think of the future of this world, the only thing I can rely upon is God's care for me and His care for His people. And trusting that God will take care of me, I still keep my eye on the nation of Israel. What they do; as God fulfills His prophecy, is the only thing that matters. Nothing else.
