"Knowing God's Plan, Where Years Equal Days"
"But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord
one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day," 2 Peter 3:8.
Peter goes on to say that God is not slack concerning His promises. Not wanting anyone to perish, the desire of God is for all to come to repentance before He sends His Son to gather the elect (See 2 Pet. 3:9). This is great news; for, in His patience, God waited for me to repent and trust His Son in 1959. Amen! And, YOU?
So, what does the thousand years really mean? Briefly, God has a week that is 7000 years long; with each day being 1000 years. From the beginning till now, we have expired almost 6000 years; or, 6 days. The time runs from Adam to now. Further, we know that the reign of Jesus on earth is a thousand years. That's the 7000 years. Then, eternity begins and goes on and on....
Our calendars are off, of course; but, we are getting very near to the coming of Christ, certainly. How do we know? While, we hear of many thoughts about the end of time – usually, a mark of some kind - it's my opinion that the true account can be known only by watching the nation of Israel.
Currently, President Obama will meet or, is meeting in Jerusalem with Israel's President Netanyahu. So, our ears are perked up. That's because, what Israel does within the world is crucial to the 2nd Coming. Israel has an amazing history. Chosen to produce the Christ child, the nation went out of existence; for awhile, but God brought Her back in 1948; when the United Nations accepted Israel within their bloc. She is God's CLOCK, ticking away time from now until She signs the peace treaty with the Antichrist. It's coming very soon.
Keep your eyes closely on the nation of Israel and you'll be aware of the time just before Christ comes. In the mean time, are you serving the Lord, NOW???
