NUMBERS OF THE BIBLE - #7
(Spiritual Perfection)
"And the seventh angel sounded; and there arose loud voices in heaven saying, 'The KINGDOM of the world has become the kingdom of our LORD, and of His Christ; and He shall reign FOREVER and FOREVER' " (Rev 11:15-16).
One of my favorite studies is numbers. It is clear that God speaks to us in number; as well as the original Greek language. To go along with this subject, I use the Companion Bible, a lot. Concerning Numbers, the Companion Bible says, "Numbers are used in Scripture, not merely as in Nature, with supernatural design, but with spiritual significance." Then, continues: "It denotes Spiritual Perfection. It is the number or hall-mark of the Holy Spirit's work. He is the Author of God's Word, and seven is stamped on it as the water-mark is seen on manufactured paper. He is the Author and Giver of Life; and seven is the number which regulates every period of Incubation and Gestation, in insects, birds, animals, and man;" Appendixes, number 10, page 14.
Of course, there are SEVEN TRUMPETS and SEVEN SEALS given for us to understand in we Revelation. One of my Bibles heads chapter 11:15 with: "Christ's Reign Foreseen." We believe that it's the time that Jesus comes the Second time. It's the resurrection of I Corinthians 15. It states, "But each in his own order, Christ the first fruits, and after that those who are Christ's at HIS coming," V 23. Notice, we are changed AT HIS COMING.
Then, added is Revelation 6:12-13, telling us that the "...sun became black as sackcloth...and the whole moon became like blood," at His coming. This is another writing of the Second Coming of our LORD. We have never read that Jesus takes His saints away before He comes; but, His coming is according to the 7th Trump and the 6th Sea.
