Paul To Titus On Preaching
"But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine," Titus 2:1
We all have responsibility to others. Older men and old women are to be "...teachers of good things" (V 3). Besides living as Christians, we are to show this by teaching the younger ones to do the same. You know, just like you were taught by the elders in you local church. Young men are to be sober; as well as the young women. Women are to love their children; and, by nab, there are to love their husbands, too.
Preaching to others comes by the grace of God, of course. Grace teaches us to live like Christians ought to live, sure; but, also keep on "looking for the blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior, Jesus Christ," Titus 2:13. That's why we live out the word of God.
The main purpose of Jesus returning is to be with His people; those who have been "redeemed and are zealous of good works" (Titus 2:14). Thus, in Paul's message, He tells Titus to speak these things and exhort, in his messages, Titus should not expect it all to go well; but, Preach it anyway, Brother. "Let no man despise thee"; (or, don't worry what men think about what you say). Just preach the words and allow the Holy Spirit to intervene.
