BRIGHT LIGHTS (to show the way)
"Thy WORD is a LAMP unto my feet, and a light unto my path," Psalms 119:105.

David walked with God, always. He wrote about God showing him the "Path of life" (Ps. 16:11). In all his goings, David was assured that God kept him from "...the paths of the destroyer" (Ps. 17:4). Today, there are so many ways that men walk. They don't know the way; nor, read God's Word. However, we are so thankful to know the ways of life. But, we are not to refuse what God says.

The way isn't  hard to know, at all. Jesus was clear on how to walk; even, telling us where to go. In the Bible, our LORD taught us to "...Make ready the way of the LORD, make His paths straight" (Matt. 3:3, NASV). But, as we read Matthew, we know that truth goes a long way back. The words are from Isaiah 40, some 700 hundreds before Christ. We are aware that, from the beginning, the PLAN of God remains. He is coming to earth.

Our LORD adds, "Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight...and all flesh shall see the salvation of God" (Luke 3:5,6). All obstructions shall be removed. All the world shall see the salvation of God when Jesus returns; but, the LORD wants us to take His coming to heart by faith, today. He wants us to honor Him now and, when He returns. We have to get those 'hindering things' out of our life, today. See you in Church on Sunday.

As Hebrews 12:13 teaches, "...make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed". The LORD heals us every step. Further, His Spiritual healing is just as real and clear as His physical healing that we read in the Bible. But, we must obey by knowing the words of Christ. We are to: "seek peace" (Heb. 12:13) and "God's grace" (v 15).

As we continue to read verses 16-21, we realize what occurred when we trusted Jesus. He, not only died but, He lives to lead us, today. Thus, by faith, we won't sell our birthright as Esau did. What change took place when we trusted Jesus as our Savior, is alive in us, daily. The account of losing one's blessing is avoided as we walk by God's light.

In Jesus, we know where we are going, today. In fact, we know what's ahead. Without a doubt, where we will be one day, is exactly where we are SPIRITUALLY, right now. Mt. Zion is here, now, by faith. By faith, I can see God's living city, New Jerusalem. Looking around, I see angels and, even the firstborn assembled. And, I see Jesus, our Mediator. What a blessing to know His word.

Again, serious gospel news must be obeyed. Hebrews 12:25 tells us to "See that ye refuse not him that speaks." When He returns, all things that are not of the LORD shall be shaken and removed. And then, His kingdom will come. Therefore, by faith, we know that we have to have, "Godly fear" (V 28). At the return of Jesus, God will shake; not only the earth, but heaven, as well, according to He 12:26. WOW!!!

Oh, by the way, where are you going??? Or, to be clear, HOW ARE YOU GOING?
