"Patterns, Types and Shadows"
"For the LAW having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect," Hebrews 10:1.

Without question, we have to know that the Law of Moses was not what God intended bring us salvation. The Patterns shown in Hebrews says that the LAW is a 'SHADOW.' That is; if it were  the actual sacrifices that really took away sin, then  they would have "ceased to be offered" (Heb. 10:2). But, we see that the sacrifices within the LAW brought remembrance to sin every year (v 3). Blood of goats & bulls never took away sin (Heb. 10:4). In fact, the word tells us that burnt offerings did not bring pleasure to the LORD (Heb. 10:6). God had no pleasure in them, because sin was not removed in by them. Since, sin was not removed, Hebrews teaches us that sacrifices had to be offered, each year. "Patterns, types and shadows" were necessary – as a type; but, God looked to the day that Jesus, His Son would enter the world and pay for sin, finally. Can't you just see God propping His elbow on the window of eternity, knowing then that Sin would end when His Son was born and when He died to pay for sin with His life and His blood. His offering "perfected for all time those who are sanctified," Hebrews 10:14. It's a once-saved-always-saved Scripture. The WORD goes on to tell us that the Holy Spirit confirms this truth in Hebrews. "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days: I will put my laws upon their heart, and upon their minds I will write it."

The Jews should have known this fact; for, way back in Psalms 40, it was written, "Then I said, 'Behold, I have come to do Thy will, O God" (Ps. 40:7, 8). "Shadows" are gone. "Patterns and Types" no longer are acceptable, either. God has a NEW COVENANT as Hebrews 10:16 teaches: "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days: I will put my laws upon their heart, and upon their minds I will write it.

Do we have Jesus? Are we serving Him, today? If you will, dwell on the fact that "forgiveness" of all sin is given to us when we trust Jesus. And, since His dying, "There is no longer any offering for sin," Hebrews 10:18. If we have forgiveness, as we do when Jesus died on Calvary, "we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus." AMEN!
