GOD’S PURPOSE IN CHRIST
“To Every thing there is a season, and a time to
every purpose under the heaven,” Ecclesiastes 3:1.
The next time you wonder what you’re doing here, remember the above verse. Walking the LORD is the only way to know where you are headed. His plan is tremendous and, He purposed it before the foundation of the world. I suppose the good LORD purposed His plan just after Jesus agreed to save mankind. WOW!! Solomon was aware of what’s going on in his day; which he thought of often, no doubt. “...God shall judge the righteous and the wicked for there is a time for every purpose and for every work” (3:17). No thought of doubt, here!
God’s work is predestined. The LORD has called His people according to His purpose; thus, we know that “...all things work together for good to them that love God...” (Rom. 8:28). The good LORD gave us his word to learn what He would do in His Son. Ephesians 3:11 says that Christ is how it will all work out; and, of course, as Paul told Timothy, we are called “according to His own purpose and grace; which was given us in Christ Jesus BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD” (2nd Tim. 1:9).
